Medical Surgical Emergencies Course

It was a real privilege for the Association of Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland (ASGBI) to be able to utilise the excellent facilities at the NSSC for 6 days in May, in order to run a Train the Trainers and Management of Surgical Emergencies Course at the NSSC. When ASGBI and COSECSA were awarded a Large Paired Institutional Grant by the UK Government in 2012 it was necessary to identify a good venue for the Northern part of the COSECSA Region.  The NSSC  was superb and suited our purposes ideally.  We made full use of all the facilities; the wet and dry labs, the reception area and even the sluice! The storage capacity provided ample space for all our kit which will remain at the Centre for future courses.

The icing on the cake was NSSC staff who put themselves out to make sure that we had everything we needed. Nothing was too much trouble. Undoubtedly the best Centre we have visited in East Africa.  The Faculty cannot wait for the next course in May 2014.
